Declaration

 

Be it known that I, Edmund Keli’i Silva, Jr. King of the

Kingdom of Hawai’i hereby declare that the entire archipelago

 and surrounding seas of the archipelago belong to the Kingdom of Hawai’i. 

That all peoples throughout the world are served notice that Hawai’i

is an independent sovereign nation ordained and sustained by

 the Hand and Might of a Just God in our Heavenly Father.

Aloha oe, Congresswomen Pelosi,

 

In our life, we meet all kinds of challenges.  These challenges define us later as we mature into our own persons.  There are many causes to fight for, and who can say which it will be?  Many are called to duty to right substantial wrongs but fail because they lack courage or knowledge of the problem to make a difference that is righteous.

 

Heavenly Father has given me three challenges to overcome.  They are summed up in the following concepts:

 

1. To thine own self be true, 2. Enlightenment and 3. Restore the Kingdom of Hawai’i. 

 

The moral and spiritual condition of the Kanaka Maole stemmed directly from their slavery to a culture and tradition not their own; total emancipation is morally and ethically justified, and it is a matter of national duty before God that the Kingdom of Hawai’i be restored.

When I consider the magnitude of this subject, I think of my own weaknesses in the undertaking of this great cause in righting a substantial wrong. 

When these thoughts press upon my mind, it is impossible for me not to feel both terrified and concerned at my own inadequacy to such a mission but, when I reflect upon the work of my ancestors and those of present time, I am encouraged.

When I turn myself to the thought of seeing my people happy once again upon their lands we call Hawai’i nei, I take courage, I determine to forget all my other fears, and I march forward with a firmer step in the full assurance that my cause will bear me out, with faith that I shall be able to justify upon the clearest principles every resolution in my hand, the avowed end of which is the total restoration of the Kingdom of Hawai’i. 

I mean not to excuse anyone for their part in the theft of the Kingdom because part of the blame falls upon my ancestors as well as myself.   Why?  I also have come to appreciate a refrigerator, stove and all the fine things the Western, European and Asian worlds introduced into the Kingdom; and new technology is not to be traded for injustice and the loss of our children’s inheritances.  But weaknesses can be turned into strengths.

The beauty of the restored kingdom is that it will only foster the cultural diversity found within and without, and this will in turn only strengthen the kingdom.  The restored kingdom of Hawai’i stands as a beacon for all people in the world, calling for peace and a coming together of mind and heart. 

Regardless of race, we can all be accountable to our heritage for the cultural talents and abilities that have evolved through generations of peoples.  And we can and should also be accountable for the wrongs that our ancestors may have committed.  I seek to continue the legacy of my people in correcting our collective wrongs, as stated above.  This is true progression.

The entire Government of the United States should also accept responsibility for its collective wrongs, which extend back through history.  The US Government should feel ashamed for having suffered this vile business in stealing a Kingdom.  

Each of us must take responsibility of our own actions and not exonerate ourselves by throwing the blame on others.  To those with power and influence in the US Government I ask these questions: Do you serve only yourself even though your position represents the whole nation?  Or do you serve your nation—in which case you take pride in your heritage and will accept responsibility for both the magnificence and the folly of its history?  The United States has a proud heritage as well as historical foibles. 

So to those who represent the United States now, continue to make the legacy of the US proud by truly leading your nation to progression, in righteousness and honor, by accepting responsibility for your past.  The Hawaiian Kingdom deserves reparation and restoration.

Those who are more immediately involved in this wretched business of conspiracy to continue under the guise of law to keep the Kingdom of Hawai’i captive are those who have a political and financial interest at stake.  Likewise are those who are only passively obstructing justice through either ignorance or indifference.

In closing:  I desire that we open up communications with the highest urgency and priority to restore the Kingdom.  Please contact me directly to advance this effort.  Furthermore, I would be amiable in sending my highest confidant Ali’i Mana’o Nui Lanny, A. Sinkin and Celestial Council Women Megan Wong, to Washington to address the subject matter towards my Kingdom’s Independence.
