Declaration

Be it known that I, Edmund Keli’i Silva, Jr., King of the

Kingdom of Hawai’i; hereby declare that the entire archipelago

and surrounding seas of the archipelago belong to the Kingdom of Hawai’i.

That all peoples throughout the world are served notice that Hawai’i

is an independent sovereign nation ordained and sustained by

the Hand and Might of a Just God in our Heavenly Father.

Signed by:  His Royal Majesty on September 25, 2007

To:  Office of Hawaiian Affairs Trustees

Aloha oukou.  This is a difficult letter to write because Hawaiians should band together for the greater good.  That good…is righting the substantial wrongs we have suffered since the illegal taking of our Kingdom; not tearing down the Godly efforts of the just who are hard at work setting things right.

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs was instituted to be the voice of the people, yet you have failed.  Homelessness, malnutrition, sickness and unhappiness are currently your legacy.

You have betrayed the people without remorse and governed unwisely.

In the Hawaii Tribune-Herald dated October 20, 2007, the following statement appeared:

"The Board of Trustees has not taken a position on the Superferry and Mr. Silva does not speak for OHA," said Office of Hawaiian Affairs Administrator Clyde Namuo.

What kind of leadership does not bother to study, discuss, and take a position on one of the most controversial issues to arise in these islands in recent memory?

What kind of leadership takes no position, even after a judge in the occupying power’s government states that operation of the Superferry is likely to do irreparable harm to the environment?

What kind of leadership stands aside while twelve-year-old children enter the waters of Nawiliwili Harbor on Kauai to protect the kai and the ‘aina and to stop the Superferry from breaking the law by continuing to operate after the Supreme Court decision?

What kind of leadership, presenting itself as the future of the Hawaiian people, stands aside while the United States moves a high speed mobile platform into Hawaiian waters able to deploy the Stryker Brigade to suppress the sovereignty movement, should independence be preferred to assimilation?

Those questions answer themselves.  As to that last question, those within the Kingdom who support such a deployment commit treason against the restored Kingdom.

Since OHA Trustees refuse to speak for themselves, I, as Alii Nui Moi, do speak for them.  The Kingdom is restored, and the sooner you understand that I have come to fulfill my obligations as King, the smoother the transition will be.  You can determine for yourself the roots of that obligation by reviewing my genealogy posted at www.KingdomofHawaii.org.

I have issued a Cease and Desist Order to all those cooperating in the illegal effort to continue deployment of the Superferry in Hawaiian waters.  I attach that Order and the Opinion and Exhibits issued by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.  Perhaps after studying those documents, you will find reasons to step forward to protect the po`e, the kai, and the ‘aina.

If not, so be it.  That failure will be one of the many to be discussed once the restoration process is completed.
