ALI`I NUI EDMUND KELII SILVA, JR.

KING OF HAWAI`I

The task of guiding the restoration of the Kingdom of Hawai`i is a spiritual and secular responsibility.

The first responsibility of every citizen is to maintain a strong connection to Ke Akua, the Creator; to seek guidance as to the proper path to follow; and to fulfill the divine purpose by living a life that is pono (harmonious with the highest good) and radiates Aloha.

In the Kingdom, the practitioners of the sacred arts have their place in setting the field within which the restoration will take place and assuring that each step is taken in alignment with the highest good for the natural world and the people.

The King aligns himself with Ke Akua and the sacred field and guides the unfolding of a daily governance that protects the natural world and serves the needs of the people.

In external relations, the Kingdom pursues a strict policy of neutrality. At the same time, the Kingdom is committed to involving itself in international affairs in any way that can help bring peace and tranquility to the Human community. The Hawaiian people bring to this task the spirit of Aloha, the ancient Hawaiian techniques for resolving disputes and other contributions toward the evolution of a peaceful world.

Born on March 10, 1954, Edmund Kelii Silva, Jr. is a direct descendant of King Kamehameha the Great, the Hawaiian King who united the islands. His Majesty is also a lineal descendant of King Kamehameha Nui of Maui. He is of Hawaiian, Chinese, and Portuguese descent. The Ali`i Nui (High Chief) honors all those who have gone before him. He also honors those who resisted the unlawful removal of the Kingdom government and kept faith through more than a century that the Kingdom would be restored.

At an early age, His Majesty’s father began teaching his son the spiritual, mental, and physical disciplines associated with martial arts. That training traces back to His Majesty’s grandfather, Ha Fong Say, originally from the Canton Province of Mainland China. His Majesty is a Ninth Degree Blackbelt (Magino-O) in the Pekiti – Tirsia system of the Filipino martial arts, a Master in the art of Jinsheng Shu, and a Master in the Hawaiian Lua.

His Majesty also has experience in various business fields, including insurance and real estate.

His Majesty’s parents are Edmund Kelii Silva, Senior and Cecilia Ku’ulei Silva.

His Majesty has three children: Prince Edmund Kelii Silva, III; Princess Gabrielle Leilani Silva; and Princess Colette Maile Silva.
