Autobiography
Of
Edmund Keli’i Silva, Jr.
My life since birth has been blessed with many challenges.
Upon entry into this world I was born with a heart dysfunction that threatened my life, and I was placed in an incubator until I gained strength enough to go home.
My health continued to fail, prompting Mom, a woman of great faith, to call upon my tutu Palili, a High Priest in the Mormon Church; to give me a blessing.
While in prayer, he was told to give me a sacred name: Nalikolauokalani Paki.
Tutu is my blood relative and a Paki.
From a very young age, I have faced many challenges that have surely tested the
breath, depth, width, and length of my journeys here on earth. I am known by family and friends by my Hawaiian ancestral name
‘Keli’i’. I am of Hawaiian (75%), Chinese and Portuguese descent. I was born on

I am also the proud father of another son, Nalikolauokalani Paki Silva, who was born near the end of 2007. His beautiful mother is Maile.
I am well educated and blessed with a sound mind.
I graduated from
I am a Grandmaster and Professor of Chi Kung Tung Kung-Fu.
Official training began at 3 year’s old and continues today. My training was extensive in empty hand and weapons
techniques, Asian philosophy, body anatomy and acupuncture. Today, I practice acupuncture and acupressure.
I also hold the titles of Magino 9th degree black belt in the Pekiti-Tirsia system, Grandmaster of the art of Jinsheng Su, and Master in Hawaiian Lua.

From 1987 to 1992, I owned and operated Century 21 Kaiulani Properties, Inc.
I was the Chief Executive Officer and President of this company. I also operated and
supervised our family owned private business, Boston Whalers Fishing Company. I was Ambassador for United Hawaiian
Sovereignty, Co-Chairmen on the Ways and Means Committee for Hui Na’auao, Spiritual Councilor for the Nation of Ku, and President of Silva Royal Polynesian Martial Arts.
I was President of Silva & Associates Financial Institution. I served as a General Agent for Pan American Life
Insurance Company, as an Insurance Agent for Life Investors Insurance Company of
From the early 1990’s to 2004, I was wrongfully imprisoned for what was at best
a civil case regarding repayment of a loan, not a criminal case. I took this case to trial and did not take a plea bargain
that would have granted me 10 years of probation with no prison time. As a matter of principle, I would not compromise my
integrity to negotiate for anything less than dismissal of the charges. The cost of my moral stance was receiving a 24 year
prison-time ruling, of which I spent 12 years behind bars, to finally leave early on good behavior and standing. I lost more
than just time in prison. I lost the growing years of my children, family, time spent cultivating taro and interacting with
my students, and the countless other opportunities I could have enjoyed during that time. But I would not bend to false
accusations and will still not. Israel Kamakawiwa`ole, a personal friend of mine, said, “Never compromise your kuleana.
If your kuleana is pono, it doesn’t matter what anyone says.” The state court of Colorado used their court system as a
highly paid collection agency. This substantial wrong against me cannot be denied and must be corrected.
I have been actively pursuing the court system to prove right my good name of any wrong-doings and currently have attorneys working on my wrongful imprisonment
case.
During and before this unjust captivity, I have been vigorously seeking redress
of our stolen Kingdom. I met with great resistance from both the Federal and State government agencies, as well as the
private sector. Many did not want to see me succeed and prayed for me to fail.
Therefore, it is believed a major conspiracy to get me off island was at play. This is the most logical explanation I have
been offered.

From 2004 until the present time my work has been recognizing the problems
before us as a nation. The work, although exhaustive, is a blessing. It
challenges every fiber of my being without end. Yet, I stay the course because I believe in the greater good.
Recently, we have been working very hard to prevent the Superferry from
inflicting significant environmental damage on the kai and the ‘aina. I have filed declarations in Federal Court in support
of the courageous people fighting to stop the Superferry. I have also filed an Order of Performance with the Hawai’i Supreme
Court, in its capacity as Surrogate for the Kingdom Supreme Court in abstentia, seeking a clarifying order that would prevent Superferry from continuing to operate.
We have great plans for the restoration.
The first administrative body that is currently being formed is the Celestial Council. Twelve of the most akamai and
compassionate people in the Kingdom will shepherd the restoration process to completion.
We have prepared a plan to present to the Celestial Council that is now on the
website in the form of a draft document.
All my life I have worked with Kupunas, family and friends to restore the
